Watch out for bikers this summer by staying alert!
If you are driving in a vehicle, be sure to be extra cautious when looking for pedestrians during the summer months. With the kids out of school, there are more walkers and bicyclists outside to watch for. Be alert at stop signs, intersections, driving past driveways and by sidewalks especially in a rural area where there are a lot of residents.
If you are a biker, be sure to be alert and make sure that the vehicles see you before crossing a street. Make sure that you know what your city’s rules are for bicyclists for riding on the sidewalks or in the bike lane. It may be hard for vehicles to see you, so be sure to wear bright colored clothing and have a light or reflector on your bike when you are traveling later in the day.
It is important for both drivers and bicyclists to be alert and aware of their surroundings when they are traveling from point A to point B. Watch out around you and stay safe!
