Washing your car in the summer is the same as washing your car in the winter, right? Wrong! Washing your vehicle in the summer can be a lot more challenging depending on the climate that you are in. In Texas, the weather reaches high temperatures in the summer which means that the exterior surface of your vehicle will be hot. This can make it difficult to wash. Keep reading below to learn a few helpful tips to follow when washing your vehicle in the summer heat!

If you are planning to wash your vehicle this summer season, try to find an overhang or a spot in the shade that you can park your vehicle under. This will help to lower the surface temperature and not evaporate the water so quickly while you are washing. If you do not have access to a shaded spot, consider going to a self-wash station, as these are usually covered.

Before washing your vehicle out in the sun, be sure to check the label of the product that you plan on using to ensure that it does not have anything written about using it in the direct sun.

The challenge with washing your vehicle in warm weather is that the soap and water dry so quickly and leave water spots. To avoid this from happening, wash your vehicle in sections. Start by washing the tires and then move on to one panel. Wash and dry that section before getting another section wet. By doing this, you should be able to eliminate the undesirable water spots and streaks.
